Police-Citizens Youth Clubs (PCYC) Queensland is an award-winning charity providing youth and community programs, services and facilities.

Whilst focusing on young people’s personal and leadership development, PCYC Queensland offers activities and programs for all ages and all levels. One of their featured events in 2024 is the Bunburra Event held on the Gold Coast in June this year.

This incredible event brings together players from communities across Queensland, including Napranum, Aurukun, Yarrabah, Palm Island, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Rockhampton, Woorabinda, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, and Crestmead.

Bunburra 2024 aims to develop sporting skills and leadership qualities and recognises driven young individuals selected to play based on their consistent achievements throughout the year. It also offers an opportunity for young people to connect with others who are enthusiastic about achieving success and supports their pride and sense of identity.

It’s one of three annual events delivered as part of PCYC Queensland’s ‘Sport & Culture Corroboree’ commitment, aligned to our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan and Eziway proudly sponsors the Bunburra Event in 2024.

The day’s games kicked off at 9 am and ran right through to 5 pm, followed by a cultural ceremony that broke up the games from the finals.

The day came to an end with the boys and girls finals followed by the awards ceremony where Eziway had the pleasure of awarding the Most Valuable Player awards to 2 very deserving players of the day who displayed leadership and a sense of community togetherness with some exceptional skill during gameplay.
